Pharmacy allowances

Pharmacy Start-up Allowance

The Pharmacy Start-up Allowance is provided by the Fourth Community Pharmacy Agreement and was introduced to encourage the establishment of new pharmacies in remote locations.

Under this initiative, eligible pharmacists can receive up to $100,000, comprised of three payments over a two year period.

Pharmacy Succession Allowance

The Pharmacy Succession Allowance is provided by the Fourth Community Pharmacy Agreement and was introduced to encourage the retention of existing pharmacies where there is a need for a community pharmacy in a rural and remote location.

Under this initiative, eligible pharmacists can receive up to $60,000, comprised of up to three payments over a two year period. The allowance is paid to eligible pharmacists in established approved pharmacy premises.
